Robert Bosch LLC seeks an Engineering Manager – Diesel Fuel Injection Components at its facility located at 8101 Dorchester Road, Charleston, SC 29418. The Engineering Manager – Diesel Fuel Injection Components will define department goals according to market analysis and company strategies for Diesel fuel equipment injection systems (on road and off road vehicle applications). S/he will define a detailed plan to accomplish the department goals within the automotive sector (on road and off road vehicle applications). S/he will prepare budgets, approve expenditures and develop cost estimates for project within Diesel fuel equipment injection systems (on road and off road vehicle applications). S/he will hire, train and mentor other engineers (i.e. project management, product knowledge, component analysis, problem solving, requirement engineering). S/he will write performance reviews and prepare salary reviews for associates working with diesel injection systems projects/products. S/he will coordinate development activities with competence centers and/or development centers in Italy, Germany and other unit organizations in the United States to discuss future markets requirements, transfer of engineering responsibilities from Europe to USA, local USA customers support and buildup of local competencies. S/he will report to high level management for critical issues such as quality issues in the field, and status of critical USA customer projects. S/he will ensure that all projects are followed within the request level of quality, within the agreed budget and timeline for Diesel fuel equipment injection systems (on road and off road vehicle applications). S/he will oversee and coordinate customer onsite technical reviews when requested by USA customers or when requested by the project status. S/he will work with management on corrective actions needed to improve associates quality of working conditions within the organization. S/he will coordinate engineering requirement activities in order to provide USA customers products matching their request. S/he will coordinate analysis of component returning from field for USA customers. S/he will coordinate with European development center problem solving activities to fix potential quality issues of the product within the USA market. S/he will coordinate with Europe development center the activities to improve the robustness of the product. S/he will supervise 6 (3 Project Leaders (pump and rail), 2 Series Support Engineers and 1 Investigation Engineer. 10% domestic or international travel required. REQS: Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing or related field, plus 3 years of work experience with manufacturing and diesel pump platform development. Additionally, the applicant must have 3 years of professional experience with: (1) using diesel fuel-rails system up to 2500bar system pressure and diesel pumps for light, heavy duty and off highway applications; (2) working with international OEMs; (3) coordinating international simultaneous engineering teams; (4) managing international projects in the automotive industry; (5) leading a team of engineers in the automotive industry; and (6) using development tools such as product development process, FMEA (Failure Mode and Effect Analysis), DRBFM (Design Review Based on Failure Mode), and risk management.
