Software Engineer, Journeyman

Charleston, SC

Semper Valens Solutions, Inc. (SVS) is working to

build a new IT team for

support services to the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Atlantic

(SPAWARSYSCEN Atlantic) Surface Ship Integration Division and C4I Modernization

& Readiness Division. The team’s focus and effort will encompasses planning

and execution of various processes and artifacts defined by the Command

Operating Guide (COG) supplemented by the Surface Ship Integration Division and

C4I Modernization & Readiness Division Program Operations Guide (POG) in

support of various class of hulls and projects to include, but not limited to

Littoral Combat Ships (LCS), Landing Helicopter Assaults (LHA), Guided Missile

Destroyers (DDG), Landing Platform Dock (LPD), Nuclear Powered Aircraft

Carriers (CVN), Landing Craft Utility (LCU), Fast Frigate (FF), Military Sea

Lift Command (MSC) vessels , Expeditionary Fast Transports (EPF), Military

Sealift Replenishment Oilers (T-AO(X)), and Tug and Salvage Ships (T-ATS(X)).

This effort is contingent upon award.

Software Engineer Responsibilities:

The successful selectee

will perform the following duties:

  • Design, test and analyze systems related to the program

and strategically plan solutions to provide recommendations to senior management

and customer.

  • Developing software applications that conform to

programmatic requirements, specifications, and applicable coding

standards.

  • Developing software using fourth generation Object

Oriented programming languages (e.g. C++ 11/14, Java), practices, and

methods.

  • Working within operating environments including but not

limited to Windows, Linux, and Mac OSX.

  • Utilizing Agile development processes and methods

(specifically SCRUM).

  • Ensuring compliance with Software Life Cycle Processes

and Software Verification and Validation.

  • Working with project managers and

development teams to define and improve the software development

methodology and processes for the program.

Software Engineer Qualifications:

·

BS

degree in Engineering or Physical Sciences.

·

Working

towards the following certifications within one and a half year after assuming

duties: Certified Software Development Professional (CSDP) (Previously known as

Certified Software Engineering Professional (CSEP)), or with COR approval

complete a vendor/platform specific certification (e.g., Microsoft Certified

Solutions Developer (MCSD), Microsoft Certified Applications Developer (MCAD),

Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA), Sun Certified Professional (SCP),

Red Hat Certification Program (RHCP), CISCO Certified Network Professional

(CCNP), Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), other).

Ten

(10) years of experience with C4ISR systems, to include: Technology Analysis

and Assessment, Design Definition, Development of Systems Specification,

Systems Analysis, Systems Architecture, Systems/Equipment Integration, Test

& Evaluation Criteria, and Logistics support of C4ISR requirements.

Five

(5) years of technical experience in support of PEO C4I Program of Record

Systems. Note: Experience may be concurrent.

  • Must have a current secret clearance
