The KeyW Corporation Cyber Security Administrator in Charleston, South Carolina


KeyW Corporation is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to join our team. This position is located in Charleston, SC. Qualified candidates must have an active Secret Clearance.

The Cybersecurity Engineer is experienced with frequent use and application of technical standards, principles and theories. Works under general supervision, providing solutions to technical problems of moderate scope/complexity.

On a day to day basis, the Cybersecurity Engineer will:

  • Work with topics related to Cybersecurity in support of Navy and Marine Corps customers.

  • Conduct Information Assurance compliance testing using automated tools (SPAWAR SCAP Compliance Checker, DISA ACAS/Nessus Professional, Customized Scripts), and manual test cases (DISA STIGs and SRGs)

  • Document the results of testing in standardized test artifacts.

  • Perform data consolidation and analysis on test results based on NIST Risk Assessment methodology (SP 800-30 rev 1)

  • Present the results of the data analysis through formal reporting – both written and verbal.

  • Assist in the development process of automated scripts for compliance testing.

  • Design technical and/or procedural solutions to resolve compliance issues, and promote their adoption by other program stakeholders.

  • Support with the the administration of cybersecurity products in the program's development and test environment.

  • Create or revise the program's technical documentation.


Required Skills:

  • Have experience with DoD or Federal compliance testing methodologies

  • Have testing or system administration experience in one or more of the following technologies:

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux

  • Windows Server 2012

  • PostgreSQL

  • Apache / TomCat

  • JBoss

  • Other similar enterprise class applications/services considered.

  • Be be proficent with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint office products

  • Meet DoD 8570.1 at the minimum level of IAT II within six months of employment (CISSP preferred for mid-tier or above candidates, Security+ preferred for junior candidates).

  • Be willing to travel up to 25%.

  • Meet minimum education/experience requirements (below)

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with BASH and/or Powershell scripting.

  • Experience with DIACAP, DoD RMF or Federal Certification and Accreditation Processes for IT systems.

  • Experience with managing data within Microsoft Access, to include developing GUI forms for data processing and reporting within Access.

  • Experience working in a Agile/SCRUM environment.


  • Bachelor of Science Degree in CS, CSE, CSET, IT, IA, CIS, MIS or Sciences with relevant coursework in several of the following:

  • Information Assurance

  • Computer Security

  • Programming

  • IT Infrastructure

  • System Analysis and Design

  • Information Security

  • Business Writing

  • Database Administration

  • Candidates without a BS degree may be considered with 4+ years' experience within the Information Assurance Field.


Clearance Requirement: This position requires a secret security clearance. Clearance and polygraph (if required) processing will be completed by the U.S. Government.
