Oracle Cloud (PaaS) Operations Engineer - DevOps / Automation in Charleston, South Carolina
Define, design, and implement network communications and solutions within a fast-paced, leading edge database/applications company.
Perform performance trend analysis and manage the server/network capacity. Propose client configuration and implement technical solutions to enhance and/or troubleshoot the system. Work with others to define, coordinate vendor purchase needs. Responsible for support documentation as well.
Job duties are varied and complex utilizing independent judgment. May have project lead role. 5 years of related experience in a medium to large network distributed and computing environment. BS in Computer Science or related field.

Location preference: Redwood City CA, Pleasanton CA, Broomfield CO, or Seattle WA
What You'll Do
Manage security risks, issues, and work end-to-end through the architecture and engineering workflow..
Build and improve team processes and workflow to maximize efficiency and productivity
Understand Oracle Cloud security practices at both a technical and business level.
Act as the point-of-contact for Oracle Cloud inquiries.
Provide insight, expertise, and content for other teams.
Navigate through technically complex setup spanning operating systems, network, storage, virtualization tier, applications, routing, and load balancers to identify and resolve challenging issues.
Install, configure, and administer complex technology platforms.
Contribute to and influence the IT infrastructure architecture and deployment decisions in Oracle Cloud.
What You Need to Have
To get past step one, you need to have the following knowledge, skills, and experience.
Education and Work Experience
BS Computer Science or equivalent qualification from a renowned institute.
Certification in Linux administration in any distribution or Oracle Certifications.
5 years of experience supporting production environments on Linux, Java, or Oracle Database platforms.
Prior experience as a Cloud Operations Engineer or DevOps Engineer or Applications /Database Administrator .
Working Experience in virtualization technologies, such as Xen ,Oracle Virtual Machines, Solaris or VMware based technologies.
Strong working and troubleshooting experience in Linux/Unix administration
Expert level experience in the deployment and support of infrastructure and applications
Strong ability to solve operational problems using scripting and the ability to identify and automate common routines.
Experience with configuration management tools such as Chef and Puppet.
Hands-on experience in translating capacity requirements into infrastructure deployment topology, experience in sizing, and capacity planning.
Experience in scripting in one of languages using Perl, Python,Ruby, Chef Automation framework, Jython, UNIX shell, mcollective and automation of the common administration tasks is a must
Working Experience in Cloud technologies like AWS,MS Azure or VCloud etc is an added plus.
Experience with Tomcat, Apache HTTP server, Oracle FMW, SOA, ActiveMQ, GitHub is an added plus.

What The Perfect Candidate Will Have
In addition to the knowledge, skills, and experience listed above, you will score some extra points if you also have:
Experience with Fusion Middleware, Oracle Weblogic Server, Oracle Webcenter, Oracle SOA Suite, BPM, or BPELs.
Experience with large-scale system management and monitoring tools (for example, Oracle Enterprise Manager, Kibana, Logstash, Real User Experience Insight (RUEI), and ThousandEyes).
Experience with large-scale customer support systems and processes (for example, service request systems such as MOS, CX, and Remedy).
Software Development background in any discipline.
Hands-on experience in Oracle Engineered Systems.
Application DBA experience.
