Ryerson Admin Support A - Charlotte in Charleston, South Carolina

Position Description: Joseph T. Ryerson and Son, Inc., one of the largest metals distributors in the US with a rich history spanning 175 years, is currently seeking an Admin Support A to join our facility in Charleston, SC. Primary responsibility will be to provide varying levels of support to Management. Other duties include but are not limited to:

  • Assignment of a wide variety of diverse administrative general office functions such as ordering supplies, filing, answering phones and screening visitors, and organization of information

  • Answering and transferring of incoming calls

  • Use of MS Office and other software programs

  • Project completion as required

  • Perform other duties as may be assigned

  • Finalizing and billing processed orders, scanning production to the toll processing customers, handling inventory adjustments, creating and maintaining reports for Operations Manager

  • Logistics coordinator: arriving & dispatching loads, managing shipments for on time delivery, scanning bill of ladings to the toll processing customers

  • Complete monthly J.J. Keller Safety Training

  • Serve as a Safety Committee Member

  • Participate in company safety events

Position Requirements:

  • High School Diploma

  • SAP experience preferred

  • Previous general office experience

  • Outstanding computer skills with the ability to apply knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)

  • Experience creating reports and manipulating data using database applications

  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written

  • Ability to exercise appropriate discretion and good judgment in completing job duties and maintaining confidential information

  • Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with co-workers

  • Demonstrated ability to perform within a team environment and add to the overall success of the team
